Divisions of the Court

The District Court Pottuvil functions as an integrated judicial institution comprised of the District Court and Magistrate's Court, adjudicating civil and criminal proceedings under the legal framework of Sri Lanka.

District Court

Presides over original civil jurisdiction cases including land title actions, matrimonial disputes, estates, damages, and civil recovery.

Magistrate's Court

Presides over criminal jurisdiction, summary trials, bail inquiries, statutory regulatory enforcement, and public peace matters.
